The 2024 Masters Caddie Payout: How Much Caddies Make At The Masters

It’s the most anticipated week in all of golf, and all the beauty of Augusta National will be on full display. In this, the 90th anniversary of arguably the most prestigious tournament in all of Golf, anticipations are high to see who will claim the very elusive Green Jacket at the 2024 Masters. The top 50 players in the world, along with a few notables from LIV Golf, will be battling it out to add their names to the annals of history. The Green Jacket isn’t all that’s up for grabs here. The winner and top players, and caddies alike, will bring their A game to get their share of this year’s sizable purse.

The 2024 masters purse

The total purse at the 2024 Masters is is a whopping $20 million. This marks the largest pot at the historic event and follows along with astronomical payouts we've seen over the last 3 years. Compared to the 2023 Masters purse, that's a healthy 11% increase. This year's masters winner is expected to take home the usual18% of the prize money available to the players that make the cut, that's $3.6 million. For context, that's still 900,000 less than Scottie Scheffler took home at the 2024 Players Championship

How much does the winning caddie make at the Masters?

The winning caddie at the 2024 Masters is expected to take home $360,000. That amount is the standard 10% of the winner’s share and accounts for 28% of the $1.3 million prize money available to the caddies that made the cut over the weekend. Compared to 2023, that's a 11% bump.

How much do caddies make at The Masters?

The payout for the rest of the caddies in the field, will vary quite a bit, based on each player's performance. Here's the model most players and caddies agree to, based on what we've seen over the years:  caddies make 5% of earnings if the player places outside the top 10, 7% if the player finishes within the top 10, and 10% if the player finishes in 1st place. Using this model, we've broken down how much each caddie is expected to take home based on how the players finish when the dust settles.
