The 2023 Farmers Insurance Open is a jam-packed event and only the second full-field event on the PGA Tour’s schedule. The field includes 5 of the world’s top 10 golfers which is sure to bring some drama over the weekend. Similar to last year, the tournament was played from Wednesday through Saturday, which allows viewers to enjoy all their favorite sports over the weekend. With some late round drama, we saw the 3 day leader, Sam Ryder get overtaken after starting the day with a 2-shot lead above Jon Rahm.
Farmers Insurance Open Purse
The overall purse at the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open is $8.7 million. This is only a $300,000 bump compared to the $8.3 million pot offered in 2022. Compared to last week’s American Express Purse, we’re seeing almost a 10% improvement. This year's winner is Max Homa, who scored an impressive 66 in his final round to overcome a 5 shot deficit. Homa is expected to take home $1.57 million, the usual 18% of the pot.
How much does the winning caddie make at the Farmers Insurance Open?
The winning caddie this year is Joe Greiner, Max Homa's caddie. Greiner is expected to take home $156,600. This is the usual 10% caddies earn when their player secures a victory and accounts for 26% of the overall prize money available to caddies that made the cut over the weekend. This is just 4% more than Jeff Willett, Luke List’s caddie, took home after last year’s playoff win against Will Zalatoris and his caddie.
