The Hero World Challenge is an exciting event on the PGA tour and was founded by Tiger Woods. Each year, 20 of the top golfers on the planet head to Albany, Bahamas to get their final win of the calendar year. Though this event is not an official PGA Tour event, it still offer participants world golf ranking points and an opportunity to earn a some financial cushion to close out the year.

The total purse at the 2022 Hero World Challenge

The overall purse at the Hero World Challenge was $3.2 million. This is nowhere near the pot sizes we’re accustomed to on the PGA tour and that’s for Good reason. For one, the field size is very small, featuring only 20 of the highest ranking golfers. The second, more important, reason is that this event’s goal is to raise money for the TGR foundation. All the proceeds of this tournament goes directly to Tiger Woods’ foundation.

How much does the winning caddie get at the Hero World Challenge?

The winning caddie at this year’s Hero world Challenge is Shay Knight, Viktor Hovland’s Caddie. With this win, Knight is expected to take home $100,000. That payout cut is the standard 10% awarded to caddies on the winning bag. It also ends up being the same amount paid out to the golfer that posted the highest score for the tournament.
