The 2022 Tour Championship Caddie Payout: How Much Each Caddie Made at the FedEx Cup

The final leg of the race to the FedEx Cup is here with the 2022 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. There is no doubt that the Tour Championship is the PGA Tour's ultimate prize. The top 30 players in the FedEx cup standings will be competing for the most financially rewarding event on the PGA tour. To get a good understanding of just how rewarding this event is, just remember that last year’s winner, Patrick Cantlay, took home $15 million. That’s usually the amount of the entire pot for most majors on Tour. With prize money of that amount, there’s no doubt that the FedEx Cup title is one of the most coveted titles on the Tour.

There was no shortage of drama on the final day of the tournament. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy was in a close dog fight all day with Sungjae Im applying pressure ahead of the two. In the end, Rory McIlroy came out victorious coming back from 6 shots behind Scottie Scheffler. Making history in the process, McIlroy took the FedEx Cup title for the third time; the first ever to do so.

The Total Purse at the Tour Championship

The total purse at this year’s Tour Championship is an astronomical $75 million. This is unlike any pot we’ve ever seen on the tour and comes in good timing, with the rise of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Tour. To offer another perspective, the person still at the 30th position at the close of the tournament is poised to take home $500,000. In fact, Will Zalatoris will receive that since he had to withdraw due to having herniated disks. With his win at East Lake McIlroy will be taking home $18 million, a 20% bump from last year.

How much does the winning caddie make at the 2022 Tour Championship?

The winning caddie at this year's Tour Championship is Harry Diamond. With this win, Harry can expect to take home $1.8 million. This is the customary 10% of the prize money awarded to players that win on the PGA Tour. This week,  that happens to be Rory McIlroy. The total prize money available to the caddies is $4.3 million. Harry Diamond's share accounts for 42% of that pot. Scottie Scheffler's caddie, Ted Scott, was tied for second place along with Sungjae Im's caddie, William Spencer. Though they didn't leave with the title both Scott and Spencer took home a very healthy $402,500. Let’s take a close look at just how much money each caddie will take home at this year’s FedEx  Cup Tour Championship.
