MGA Caddie Academies 2020 To Be Hosted Virtually as Webinar Sessions

Due to strict social distancing measures in place to prevent the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the MGA has announced that this year's Caddie Academies will be hosted virtually, in a couple of webinar sessions. Following the webinar, participants will be asked to take a short recap quiz. Upon successful completion the test, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion. In addition to the certificate of completion, participants are given a list of local golf courses with caddie programs along with contact information for each caddie manager. This roster will help aspiring caddies to land a job at a course of their choosing.

What Are Caddie Academies?

Every year, the MGA hosts a series of one-day, after-school courses aimed to educate young men and women on how to become a successful caddie. The MGA calls the collection of courses the Caddie Academy. Caddie Academies are hosted by MGA staff along with participating Caddie Managers in the Metropolitan area. The courses tend to cover everything from basic golf terminology to golf course etiquette for caddies.

Who Are Caddie Academies For?

Caddie Academies are for anyone with any level of golf experience. If you want to learn how to be a great caddie, this will be a great first step. If you are looking to learn golf first-hand or are interested in making some extra summer change while getting your steps in, caddieing may be just for you. Sign up or the next available webinar on Monday, May 4th, 2020 and you'll be well on your way to a great career as a caddie.

Hi everyone! I'm the Caddie Daddie. This is a name that was thrown around to our most senior caddies at my golf course. It translates to something close to "the father of all the caddies." This blog serves to inform anyone who is thinking about becoming a caddie or golfer. We'll discuss the pros and cons, common misconceptions, and even the rules of the game. I hope this blog will be a great help to anyone that wants to learn the game of golf, the same way becoming a caddie has helped me both on and off the course.

The 2023 Masters Caddie Payout: How Much Caddies Make at the Masters

Every year, we see the best in the world compete for, perhaps, the most coveted trophy in all of golf. The field is stacked with players from both the PGA Tour and LIV Tour. This is the first event that LIV players have been invited to play in the 2023 season. With LIV players in the field, though, we can bet there’s some extra competition happening to see which tour has the best competition. We've seen a lot of drama unfold over the weekend, with the weather wreaking havoc on the field.
